4 Mile Sri Chinmoy - 5 June

Another cool, but dry evening. With temperatures around 16 degrees. The last race in the grand prix series was also the longest at 4 miles. The fastest man was Matthew Lock, (Witney) with a time of 22.15. The fastest woman was Eileen Naughton (Didcot Runners). The results and grand prix series are attached.

The last race of the season is in two weeks time 19 June (3 miles) after the race there will be a prize ceremony. Generally, the top 5 in each category will receive a marble block.

For the categories Senior men/women, V40, V50, WV40, and  WV50, top 7 plaques are available.

If tied on points, the position will be decided by

  1. Most Races completed
  2. Fastest time in 4 mile race
  3. Fastest time in 3 mile race.

Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3 Mile - 29 May

We had good weather conditions again, dry sunny and around 14 degrees. 103 runners finished the event. Another good turn out.

We also celebrated the 36th anniversary of the Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile, which was inaugurated by Sri Chinmoy and Mayor of Oxford on 29 May 1987.

Results attached with Grand Prix series. Will update categories and grand prix points later in the day.

Mon 5 June - 4 Miles. Note Junior race will be 2 miles

Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 2 Mile - 15 May

The weather was excellent for our first race of the season. It was a record breaking entry with 105 runners starting and finishing the 2 mile race. Thank you for your patience at the start.

Congratulations to the winner Matthew Lock who dipped below 11 minutes to win in 10.52. He led home a great contingent from Witney Road Runners. First woman was Laura Leach (Eynsham Road Runners) who completed the course in 13.14. 


Our next race is in two weeks on 29 May (3 miles) If you entered series, please re-use number, though don't worry if it gets lost.
