The second of our worldwide CHRISTMAS TRIP RACES is the KATHMANDU 2 Miles. Our next races are the SAN JUAN 1 on Wedneday 30th December and then the CAPE TOWN 10K on New Year's Day.

THE FESTIVE FIJI 5

The first of our worldwide CHRISTMAS TRIP RACES was the Festive Fiji 5K run on Christmas Day.

Worldwide 2 Mile races, RACE 12: GRATITUDE

The penultimate race in our Grand Prix series was won by Samalya from Germany. One more race to go: the Self Transcendence 2 miles.

A series of races will be available over the Christmas period: The Christmas Trip Races. Information will be sent out with the results of next week's race.

Worldwide 2 Mile races, RACE 9: SIMPLICITY

164 runners completed the 2 mile race this week. 58 runners are on track to complete all the races and acheive SUPER HERO status. Many more are still elegible for the Grand Prix and of course, everyone is welcome to compete in the final 4 races of the series.

A big welcome to Milan Javornicky from the Czech Republic who joined the series and ran 14:25. Two weeks ago he completed over 2700 miles in the Sri Chinmoy 3100 mile race.

We know that some runners have not been able to run this week because of lockdown measures.

Worldwide 2 Mile races, RACE 8: POWER

172 runners completed the POWER 2 Mile race. Just 5 races to go in the Grand Prix series.

Worldwide 2 Mile races, RACE 7: ENTHUSIASM

196 runners completed the ENTHUSIASM race (click on PDF above for all results).

A few new names appeared in the race this week. Among them were such great names as Garima Hoffman, Projjwal Pohland and Kaivalya Torpy.

Worldwide 2 Mile races, RACE 6: PATIENCE

This is the 6th race in our Grand Prix.

In the results you will see names highlighted in yellow and orange. Names highlighted in yellow are currently eleigible for the final Grand Prix results (they can complete at least 10 of the 13 races). Names highlighted in orange are currently eleigible for the final Grand Prix results and SUPER HERO status (they can complete all 13 races).

As well as the individual Grand Prix results there is the Grand Prix Olympics. This is a competition by nation. From the Grand Prix results, the total times of the top three men and top three women from a nation will be added together for an Olympic score. The individual Grand Prix results will be sorted by age category. Age categories do not apply in the Grand Prix Olympics.

Worldwide 2 Mile races, RACE 4: HOPE

This week 226 runners completed the 2 mile race.

It is great to see many runners from Hungary have joined the Grand Prix this week.

We are also very happy to see 3100 mile champion, Asprihanal Aalto from Finland, in the race.

Worldwide 2 Mile races, RACE 3: Sri Chinmoy Worldwide Heart-Garden 2 Miles

To celebrate the anniversary of the Sri Chinmoy Heart-Garden in Flushing Meadow Park in New York, we had an excellent turn out of 273 runners. Several runners from Russia and the Ukraine joined the Grand Prix series, as well as runners from Moldova, Kazakhstan, Cabo Verde and South Africa.

Worldwide 2 Mile races, RACE 2: LOVE

32 countries were represented in the second race in our Sri Chinmoy Grand Prix 2 Mile series. The results pdf includes a table showing how many runners, female and male, each country entered in this race.

The following countries are on course to be eligible for the Grand Prix Olympics, by entering at least 3 female runners and 3 male runners: Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Mongolia, Portugal and the USA. Other countres can still be eligible.

To qualify for the Grand Prix Olympics a country needs to have at least three female runners and 3 male runners in the Grand Prix final results.

To qualify for the Grand Prix, a runner must complete 10 of the 13 races.

Worldwide 2 Mile races, RACE 1: PEACE

Our first race in the Sri Chinmoy 2 Mile Grand Prix, saw 133 runners from 29 different countries cross the finish line.

Sadanand Magee from Ireland clocked the fastest time, 11:20, followed by Apaguha from Czech 11:24 and Laurence Duffy from Great Britain 11:29.

Dhavala Stott from Great Britain was the first woman to cross the line, 12:43, followed by Jayasalini from Russia 13:53 and Vinati from Slovakia 14:48.

To qualify for the Grand Prix, runners must complete at least 10 of the 13 races.

Countries will also be competing for the Grand Prix Olympics. From the Grand Prix results, the times for the fastest three men and the fastest three women from a particular country will be added together (regardless of age category) for the Grand Prix Olympics. Several countries need to find more runners to qualify for the Grand Prix Olympics.

The next race is LOVE - be sure to register for each race in advance.

Sri Chinmoy Marathon

The Sri Chinmoy Marathon welcomed over 200 runners from 37 different countries. Congratulations to all the runners!

Self Transcendence Grand Prix Results

Forty runners were eligible for the Grand Prix, having run the Half Marathon, a 10K and a 5K race.

A BIG congratulations to Sarankhuu Jargal from Mongolia who takes first prize. In fact, the first three men in the Grand Prix are all from Mongolia!

Margaret Maloney from Brisbane in Australia, 61 years of age, was the first woman in the Grand Prix. Incredible!

It was a clean sweep for Australia in the Vet 50 category, with Prachar Stegmann winning the Men V50 and Tavishi Matthews winning the Women V50.

Hats off to all our Mongolian runners, especially to Batsukh Sharav who was first in the Men V60 and Batnasan Vanchindorj who was first in the Women V70.

Once again, gratitude to you all for your enthusiastic participation and heroic effort!

Silver Starling 10K

Our final race of the Self Transcendence series, the Silver Starling 10K, was won by Ondrej Mocny from the Czech Republic in 38 minutes. Sarankhuu from Mongolia was second in 40:29 followed by Atul from Brisbane, Australia in 41:40.

The first woman was Margaret Maloney from Australia, in 49:45. Margaret was also first in last weeks race, the Raid Rabbit 5K (vet 60 Category winner and overall winner). Abhejali was second in 52:30. Byambasuren from Mongolia was third in 54:30.

The Grand Prix results are ready and will be published alonside these results.

Rapid Rabbit 5K

In our penultimate race in the Self Transcendence series, the Rapid Rabbit 5K, Sarankhuu Jargal was the first runner home in 19:07. Julia Drewer was the first woman in 24:21.

The results of the final race, the Silver Starling 10K, will be in soon and we will publish the Grand Prix results soon after that.

The Speedy Steeds Half Marathon

48 runners completed the Speedy Steeds Half Marathon!

Flying Falcon 5K

In this weeks Self Transcendence race, the Flying Falcon 5K, Apaguha Vesely from Czech crossed the finish line first in 17:31 followed by Mongolian runners in second and third place.

Edite Gailite from Penicuik Harriers in Scotland was the first woman in 24:13 followed by Abhejali Bernardova from Czech and Byambasuren Batsukh from Mongolia.

Prachar Stegemann from Australia has held his gold medal position on the podium for Vet 50's.

Congratulations to all runners! Next weekend is our half marathon!

The Kangaroo Hop 10K

This week Apaguha Vesely from Prague was the first runner across the finish line in a time of 37:03. Sarankhuu Jargal  (38:43)was second and Ondrej Mocny (39:20) was third.

Dhavala Stott from Edinburgh was the first woman home in 41:41, followed by Jana Duskova (50:35) and Vicky Cricton (50:37).

Congratulations to Prachar Stegemann for winning the Mens V50 in 48:42 and Tavishi Matthews for winning the Womens V50 in 53:51 - both who are from Canberra, Australia (though Tavishi is living in Oslo now).

In the Mens V60 Batsukh Sharav came in first, and placed 6th overall in 45:42.

Margaret Maloney is back with an excellent time of 48:50 giving her first place in the Womens V60.

The winners in the V70 category are both from Mongolia, Boldbaater Chimed (58:31) and Batnasan Vanchindorj 1:36:30.

The Dashing Deer 5K

In today's Dashing Deer 5k the first runner across the line was Sarankhuu Jargal from Mongolia, who ran his race in Canberra, Australia - 18:23. He was followed by Ondrej Mocny from Prague (18:42) and Samalya Shafer from Berlin (18:50).

In the womens race, Melissa Neal from Cambridgeshire was first to cross the line in 20:50, followed by Vicky Crichton from Edinburgh (23:42) and Jana Duskova from London (23:48).

Stephen Ingledew from Edinburgh was the first Vet 50, finishing in 20:19 followed by Prachar Stegemann from Australia (22:58) and Amur Basic from Bosnia (24:22).

Elaine Battson from London was the first woman Vet 50 in 23:40, followed by Tavishi Matthews from Oslo (26:33) and Kim Owens (27:15).

Congratulations to Morna Fleming and Patricia Wilson for placing first and second in the Women Vet 60 category and to our Mongolian runners for dominating the other Vet categories.

July 20th is our Kangaroo Hop 10K in which we expect outstanding results from Down Under!

 

 

The Arctic Ocean Relay

We had 75 teams enter the Arctic Ocean 3 x 1 mile Relay.

Ewing and Auld Codgers were the fastet team in 13:47. Congratulations to Joe Ewing, Leon Johnston and Stuart Johnston.

Camerons and Cox were the first All Ladies team in 16:19. Congratulations to Chloe Cox, Hannah Cameron and Carolyn Cameron.

The results show the full ranking by Team Time and also by Individual one mile time.

The event was dominated by several teams from Edinburgh, and a special mention goes out to the 8 teams from Mongolia!

The Indian Ocean 2 Miles

The final 2 mile race in June was won by Sadanand magee in 10:32. Tim Hely was second (10:48) and Abhinandan Willis was third (11:17).

Sophie Mullins from Fife AC was the first woman and sixth place overall in 11:58. Dhavala Stott (12:33) was second and Claire Houston (13:11) third, both running their races in Edinburgh.

 

The Midsummer 10K

The virtual Midsummer 10k was held on June 21st, the longest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere, and it was also Father's Day.

Peter Holmes from Serpentine came in first in 35:25, followed by Sarankhuu Jargal (38:41) and Atul Arora (40:16), both from Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team.

The Ladies race was a tie - Petra Kasparova and Jana Duskova, who both come from the Czech Republic and live in London, finished in 50:32. Stacey Marsh in Canberra finished third in 53:22.

Garga Chamberlain won the Vet 50 race in 39:42. Elaine Battson was the first lady vet 50 in 50:29 followed by Vasudha Deming, former Californian super-athlete, in 1:04:12.

Congratulations to Margaret Maloney who continues to dominate the Vet 60 Ladies category, finishing in a very respectable 48:28. Karnayati Morrison from Canada was first lady vet 70 in 1:14:00.

 

The Atlantic Ocean 2 Miles

In the Atlantic Ocean 2 mile race this week, Sadanand Magee from Dublin came in first in 10:47. Tim Hely from Edinburgh was second (11:03) with Samalya Schafer from Berlin in third (11:34).

The first three ladies all ran their races in Scotland. Claire Houston was first in 12:23, Dhavala Stott was second (12:27) and Amy Kerr was third (12:30).

Iain Macleod from Scotland was the first man in the Vet 50 category, and fourth overall in the race - 11:37.

In the Women Vet 60, Margaret Maloney from Brisbane came in first again, 51 seconds faster than last week. She was faster than all the men in the Vet 60 category and all the women in the Vet 50 category. Well done Margaret!

The Men Vet categories 60, 70 and 80 were all won by runners from Mongolia!

Congratulations to Jonas Lepic and Myla Love, both 9 years old. Myla was a whole minute faster this week!

The Southern Ocean 2 Miles

This week 154 runners completed the 2 Mile virtual race.

Andy Bond crossed the finish line first again, this week in 10:20. Sadanand Magee from Dublin pipped Samalya Schaefer from Berlin on the finish line by one second to get second place. Sadanand 10:48 and Samalya 10:49.

Claire Houston took first place in the Ladies race this week, keeping 7 seconds ahead of her fellow Edinburgher. Claire 12:22, Dhavala Stott 12:29. Amy Kerr was third in 12:38.

The following runners have maintained their first position in their age category for both 2 mile races: Iain Macleod (Men Vet 50), Margaret Maloney (Women Vet 60), Ros Tabor (Women Vet 70) and Graham Jenkins (Men Vet 70). Youn Myla Love, age 9, has maintained her first place in the Women Under 16.

The Pacific Ocean 2 Miles

Our first race in June was a virtual 2 mile race - The Pacific Ocean 2 Miles.

125 runners participated with Andy Bond crossing the virtual finish line first in 10:07, followed by Robert Deacon (10:34) and Sadanand Magee (10:53).

Dhavala Stott was the first woman in 12:16, followed by Amy Kerr (12:56) and Claire Houston (12:59).

We had two under 16 runners this week, Jonas Lepic (23:42) and Myla Love (20:41) both age 9. Congratulations!

Grand Prix Results Virtual 5k April May 2020

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Sri Chinmoy Oneness World Virtual 5k series.  We had participants from all around the world, representing most of the continents that the races were dedicated to.

A total of 169 runners took part in 4 or more races to qualify for the Grand Prix. The results show each runners time for the whole series, however the Grand Prix is scored using times of the four fastest races.

There was also a Grand Prix for members of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team which had 79 participants and those results are shown on a separate pdf.

We hope you've enjoyed the series and wish you good health and happy running.  Get ready for the new series in June.

The Europe 5K

Our final race of the Virtual 5K series saw 209 competitors cross the finish line.

Stephen Fabes took first place in 16:19, followed by Marc Bromwich (16:53) and Andy Bond (16:57).

Megan De Silva won the Ladies race in 19:23, followed by Suzy Whatmough (19:25) and Claire Houston (19:47).

The Australia and Oceania 5K

206 runners completed the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-World Australia & Oceania 5K virtual race this week.
 

Andy Bond from Dulwich Runners recorded the fastest time 16:05. Suzy Whatmough from Ranelagh Harriers was the first woman in 18:55.

 Next week is the final race in this series: The Europe 5K.

The Asia 5K

Over 200 runners from 22 different countries took part in the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-World Asia 5K virtual race this week.

Stephen Fabes From London’s Victoria Park & Tower Hamlets club recorded the fastest time for the second week running - 16:23, one second fastest than last week. Alastair Brockie, of Edinburgh’s Corstorphine club was 2nd in 16:47 and Marc Bromwich from Glasgow 3rd in 16:53.

Running along the shores of the Firth of Forth in Edinburgh Kathryn Kennedy, defended her first place with 19:26.  Ranelagh Harrier's Megan da Silva was 2nd in 19:50. Claire Houston of Central AC was 3rd in 19:53.

The Antarctica 5K

This week we had 228 runners in the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-World Antarctica 5km (virtual).

Stephen Fabes From London’s Victoria Park & Tower Hamlets club recorded the fastest time of 16:24 with a run around London’s Olympic Park in Stratford.

After a third place in the Africa 5K and 2nd place in the America 5k, New Zealand triathlete Kathryn Kennedy stepped up to first place for the ladies in 19:00.

Garga Chamberlain from Bristol has won the Vet 50 Men category three weeks in a row, completing this week’s race in 18:55. Maria Helena Sennhauser from Zurich has won all three Vet 50 Women races – her fastest time this series 22:44.

Raadna Tseren from Mongolia (age 86) has won his age category in the last two races.

A warm congratulations to Donna (age 83) and Edward Gookin (age 86) from San Diego, who participated in the Antarctica 5K.

We had three Under 16 runners this week. Congratulations to Foley Marshall (age 13) who finished first in his age category in 21:50.

This week’s race welcomed runners from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, The USA, Mongolia, Japan, Brazil, India, Russia, and several European countries.

The Americas 5K

Congratulations to all 189 runners who completed the Sri Chinmoy America’s 5K. Several participants have commented that it is a source of great motivation, and they are happy to be out running and pushing themselves harder than they would.

Ross Houston came in first in 16:06, running his 5K in Edinburgh. Will the 16 minute barrier be broken in this Virtual series? Ross was inspired by his wife Claire, who was second place lady in the Sri Chinmoy Africa 5K last week. Ben Kinninmonth was second in 16:40 and third was Andy Bond in 17:04.

Suzy Whatmough recorded the fastest woman’s time of 19:11, followed by Kathryn Kennedy 19:30 and Claire Houston 20:13.

This week drew athletes from 25 different countries.

The America’s 5K took place on the same day as the 33rd anniversary of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run (see peacerun.org)

Guru and Goose Pond Park (A Disciple History)

The attached PDF presents a history of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team’s connection to Goose Pond Park (Captain Tilly Park) in Jamaica, NY. With its proximity to Aspiration-Ground, the meditation garden where Sri Chinmoy spent countless hours playing tennis, composing songs and offering prayers and meditations, the Park became a focal point for many inspiring activities.

The Africa 5K

Our new series of virtual races has got off to a flying start. 135 runners from more than 15 countries completed the first race - The Africa 5K. Runners completed a 5K run on a course of their own choosing. Craig Beattie won the race in 16:26 and Emily Neilan was the fastest lady in 20:01. Congratulations to all the runners, especially Odgiiv Jadambaa from Mongolia who won the Vet 70 Mens category, followed by Mahiyan Savage from San Diego, California.

RACE 3: DETERMINATION. Worldwide Series

Once again we had 135 runners competing in the Grand Prix.

Congratulations to Prachar who has moved from the Vet 50 to the Vet 60 category. Moving up, moving on, moving fast, moving steadily!
