Hasty Hare 5K

On a beautiful summer evening in Battersea Park, 346 runners crossed the finish line in our final 5K of the season.

Thomas O Neill came in first in 15:18 followed by Max Rose and william de Cothi.

Hannah Pullen was the first woman in 16:41 followed by Alex Lane and Anna Lawson.

Henry Olsen from the Faroe Islands attempted to beat the Vet 60 national record for Denmark, and missed it by a couple of seconds, finishing in 17.07. Well done Henry!

We welcomed runners from Canada, The Netherlands, Sweden, France, Scotland, Ireland and many more nations. Thank you all for participating in our Sri Chinmoy Races, and we look forward to seeing you again next year.

Battersea Relays

239 teams turned up for the annual Sri Chinmoy Battersea Relays to create yet another memorable evening.

Woking Eastsiderz were the first team home in a team time of 13:32, Martin Sutherland (4.20), Andrew Moore (4:33) and John Hutchins (4:37).

Peter Chambers on team Fulham Highgate Kent United ran the fastest mile in 4:17.

The first 'Mixed' team to finish were MAK RC in 14:59, Kieran Sheehy (4:52), Michael Haverty (5:00) and Amie Walker (5:07).

The first Womens team to finish were HERC Ladies A in 15:34, Ruby Carter (4:56), Chelsea Spanoudakis (5:18) and Eloise Davies (5:19).

Kangaroo Hop 5K

As the hot summer temperatures took a little dip and in a gusty wind, the Kangaroo Hop 5K produced excellent results.

Kurt Wilkinson crossed the finish line first in 14:54 followed by Charlie Sandison in 14:56.

Molly Smith was the first woman, finishing in 16:32. One second behind her was Elizabeth Apsley.

Dashing Deer 5K

On a perfect summer evening, 293 runners completed the five kilometre course in Battersea Park. Congratulations to the lead runner, Julian Gregersen, who came all the way from the Faroe Islands to try and break his country's 5K record. He came close, finishing in 15:05.

Alex Lane won the Womens race in 16:55.

Congratulations to everyone who competed.

Speedy Steeds 5K

Congratulations to everyone who competed on Tuesday evening, with a massive Congrats to our new British Record holder for Women's Vet 60 5K, Clare Elms. She broke the record by 2 seconds, finishing in a stunning 18:20. Seyfu Jamaal impressed everyone again with a super swift 14:31 to take victory, whilst Adedeji Oluwatosin set a new PB with 14:54 taking second place. Helen Gaunt stormed to 16:40 placing first woman. SLH juniors performed fantastically with Gabriella Booth placing first girl U16 and Wilfred Hughes first boy U16 in an impressive 16:51.

Green Space 10K

On another wonderful summer morning, with a gentle mist of rain in the air, 228 runners completed the Green Space 10K course.

Liam White was first in 31:01. Amy Clements was the first woman in 34:18.

David Moorekite ran a speedy 54:45 to break the Vet 80 course record.

Battersea Relays

On a glorious summer evening in Battersea Park, with temperatures just dipping below 30 degrees Centigrade, 194 teams turned up to compete in the 3 x 1 mile relay.

The winning team were the Thames Hare & Hounds "Academicals" who came home in 13.25. Paddy Roddy ran the fastest mile - 4.23 - with his teammates running 4.30 (Jacob Brockmann) and 4.32 (Macgregor Cox).

The winning Womens team were Hells Belles, completing the 3 miles in 15.21. The team members were Imogen Wolsey, who ran the fastest Womens time of 5.00 accompanied by Stephanie Hewitt (5.09) and Mimi Corden-Lloyd (5.12).

The winning MIXED team were Clapham Chasers 8 who finished in 15.25, Luke Triccas (4.39), David Taylor (4.52), and Eleanor Andrews (5.54).

London Frontrunners 17 won the Vet 50 category with Robert Dufton (5.15), Shane Patrick Cullinan (5.50) and Roger Kennedy (6.03).

West 4 Swinging 60s won the Vet 60 category in 19.56 with Jason Drake (6.00), Peter Hall (6.08) and Jon Scott-Francis (7.48).

The Surrey Boys won the Under 16 category in a scorching 13.59, with Harry Klein (4.35), Tom Mythen (4.38) and Daniel Orbell (4.46).

Hast Hare 5K

Our final 5K race of the summer attracted 371 runners.

Callan Moody from New Zealand crossed the finish line first in 14:52 followed by Nick bester in 15:07.

Nineteen year old Sophie Magson was the first woman in 16:45 followed by Helen Gaunt in 16:49.

Christopher Greenwood finished in a very impressive 15:19 to win the Mens Vet 50 category, setting a new course record!

Maggie Statham-Berry broke our decade-old W Vet 70 course record with a fantastic 24:53.

Eleven year old Noah Liborg ran another great race finishing in 19:35.

Congratulations to Hoai Phuong Vu who came all the way from Vietnam to attend her daughter's graduation and completed the course in 29:33.

Kangaroo Hop 5K

On a rainy summer evening, 367 runners participated in the Sri Chinmoy Kangaroo Hop 5K.

Ugur Altan was first in 15:11. Jenny Bannerman was first woman in 17:18.

Congratulations to all the runners!

 

Dashing Deer 5K

On a wonderful warm summer evening, 300 runners completed the Dashing Deer 5K in Battersea Park.

Jack Ramm was the winner in 14:46 followed a second later by Nick Bester.

Lucy Reid, who holds the women's course record, was first woman in 16:16, followed by Elizabeth Apsley (16:57) and Helen Gaunt (16:58).

Andy Bond ran a fast 15:56 to win the Vet 50 race.

Congratulations to sisters Darcy-Mae (20:22) and Gabriella Booth (21:00), our under 16 women and Aaron Morrell (19:42) and Noah Liborg (20:26) our under 16 men.

A special thank you to our friends from South Carolina, mother and daughter Wendy and Sophia Homeyer, who completed the race in what they would consider 'cooling temperatures'.

Speedy Steeds 5K

On a cool overcast summer evening, 310 runners arrived in Battersea park for the first of the Sri Chinmoy 5K summer evening races.

Seyfu Jamal broke the course record by two seconds, a record he set last year. His time was 14:12. Nick Bester also managed to get under 15 minutes with 14:56.

Molly smith won the womens race in 16:45, shadowed by Helen Gaunt who finished one second later.

Our next race is the Dashing Deer 5K on 25th June. See you all there.

Mad March 10K

On a rainy cold Saturday morning, 194 intrepid runners turned up to run the Mad March 10K.

Charlie Sandison crossed the finish line first in 31:32, followed by Rui Yong Soh in 32:03.

The first woman was Stephanie Hewitt in 35:42 followed by Jade Dos Santos in 37:58.

It was great to see everyone at our first London Sri Chinmoy race in 2024.

Grizzly Bear 10K

On a chilly winter's morning, Kurt Wilkinson was the first runner to cross the finish line (31:43) followed closely by James Wootton (31:46).

Lucy Reid was the first woman in 33:36.

Pam Clarke broke the course record in the Vet 70 Ladies category, finishing in an excellent 51:59.

Golden Leaf 10K

On a chilly Saturday morning under a blue sky, 195 runners completed the Golden Leaf 10K.

Oliver Prior crossed the line first in 31:46. Anya Culling was the first woman in 34:08. We saw a new Vet70 course record set by Ron Cattle who clocked a very impressive 42:25.

Kangaroo Hop 5K

With a fine mist in the air and relatively cool temperatures 400 runners gathered on the start line for the Sri Chinmoy Kangaroo Hop 5K.

Nick Bester was the winner in 15:06, followed by Matthew Rallison (15:12) and Rui Yong Soh (15:15).

Jessica Saunders was the first woman in 16:47, followed by Rebecca Bunting (17:14) and Felicity Harrison (17:15).

Congratulations to Koji Miyazaki of Aldershot who broke the Vet 60 record for the second time this season, with 17:36.

Thirteen year old Luca Moloney Pedro ran a very fast 18:10 and congratulations to sixteen year old Evelyn Peters from Oregon, USA who ran a PB of 20:21.

That completes our summer series of races. We hope to see you all in the autumn for the Golden Leaf 10K and the Grizzly Bear 10K.

Green Space 10K

On a relatively cool morning with intermittent showers, 161 runners completed the Sri Chinmoy Green Space 10K in Battersea Park.

Seyfu Jamaal broke the course record by 28 seconds and finished in 29:13. Eliza Hawthorn was the first woman in 35:49.

Among the participants were runners from as far away as Malta and Mexico. Congratulations to everyone!

Silver Starling 5K

While the rest of Europe was melting in high temperatures, conditions were perfect in Battersea park for the Silver Starling 5K.

Seyfu Jamaal crossed the finish line first in a new course record: 14:14. Adam Millbery was second (15:16) and Neil Wilson was third (15:18).

Rebecca Bunting was the first woman in 17:17, followed by Imogen Amos (17:30) and Bryony Proctor (17:33).

Harry Collins-Smith aged 12 ran an incredible 17:53.

Dashing Deer 5K

On a warm and overcast evening, 325 runners completed the Sri Chinmoy Dashing Deer 5K in Battersea Park.

Nick Bester won the race in 14:55, followed by James Hurrell (15:15) and Morgan Roberts (15:19).

Two women broke the course record: Lucy Reid was first woman in 16:00 followed by Rose Harvey in 16:06.

Our annual 3 x 1 mile relay is on July 25th this year.

Speedy Steeds 5K

On a splendid warm summer's evening, 340 runners lined up to compete in the Sri Chinmoy Speedy Steeds 5K race.

Seyfuu Jamal stormed around the 2 laps in Battersea Park to win in 14:35.

Anya Culling was the first woman in 16:51.

New age-best course records were set by Mark Symes - MV50 in 16:09, and Koji Miyazaki - MV60 in 17:55

There are three more Tuesday evening 5K races this summer and places are filling up fast. On July 25th is our annual 3 x 1 mile Relay race.

Midsummer 10K

On a cool morning with a gentle breeze, 145 runners lined up on the start line in Battersea Park for the Sri Chinmoy Midsummer 10K.

Neil Wison won the race in 31:57. Rose Harvey was the first woman and seventh overall, completing the distance in a blistering 33:14, breaking our women's course record by seven seconds.

Spring 10K

On the day before the big London Marathon, 122 runners braved the cool morning temperatures to compete in the Sri Chinmoy Spring 10K. It turned out to be a beautiiful Spring morning and the sun came out as Thomas Wright crossed the finish line first in 31.33. Kay Sheedy was the first woman in 37.41.

Mad March 10K

Our first race in 2023 attracted 233 runners. Lewis Laylee crossed the finish line first in 31:45. Carole Coulon was the first woman in 37:03. A fantastic run by Simon Baines saw him set a new M Vet50 course record of 32:38

It was a cool morning - conditions were perfect! Congratulations to all runners!

 

Golden Leaf 10K

On a still and slightly cool morning, 228 runners lined up for the Golden Leaf 10K.

James Hancock crossed the finish line ahead of the field in 31:22.

Hannah Pullen was the first woman in 35:34.

Andrew Roberts set a course record of 43:07 in the Men Vet 70 category!

That is the last of our races in 2022. We will back in March 2023. Races will be published in December. Have a great rest of the year!

Autumn Dawn 10K

On a beautiful sunny morning with the park covered in mist, George Roux led the field to win in 33:00 minutes.

Hasty Hare 5K

At the end of another warm summer's day, 200 athletes gathered in Battersea Park for the Sri Chinmoy Hasty Hare 5K.

Alexander Lepretre from Highgate Harriers smashed the course record, crossing the finish line in 14:21. Seyfu Jamaal was second in 14:55.

Rebecca Bunting was the first woman in 17:01 followed by Helen Gaunt in 17:09.

A special mention for Laila Hellyer and her Lillie Hellyer, both age 14, who finished in 17:54 and 18:25 respectively.

Terry Booth was the first Vet 50 in 17:02 and Anna Critchlow (Woman V50) finished in 19:06.

Green Space 10K

On another beautiful fresh summer's morning, Seyfu Jamaal stormed ahead to win in 30:20. Lara Bromilow was the first woman in 36:20.

 

Battersea Relays

The annual Sri Chinmoy Battersea Relays is back after a three year break.

120 enthusiastic teams turned up to create the traditional electric atmosphere.

Sri Chinmoy Summer Sizzle 10K

On a beautiful summer's morning, Charlie Sandison ran a scorching 31:11 to win the race. Charlotte Taylor was the first woman in 34:13.

Silver Starling 5K

On a mild summer's evening, with a bit of a breeeze, 200 runners crossed the finish line in the Silver Starling 5K.

Nick Bester took first place in 15:05 and Sophie Harris was the first woman in 16:33.

Dashing Deer 5K

On yet another splendid summer evening, Jack Ramm from Dulwich was the first person to cross the finish line in 15:04. Georgie Grgec from Herne Hill was the first lady in 16:09 followed by teammate Sophie Harris in 16:49.

Speedy Steeds 5K

After a festive Jubilee weekend, it was back to business for the Sri Chinmoy Races in Battersea Park. On the 40th anniversary of Run and Become London we saw a very competitive race. Ross Broomfield was the winner in 14:59. Harriet Bloor was the first woman in 16:12 setting a new course record.

David Ogden smashed the previous course record for the Vet 60 category, running a blazing 17:42.

Our 5K evening races continue every Tuesday in June. If you enter any of the other 5K's in June please use the same Race Number.

May 10K

On a beautiful sunny summer morning, after a day of heavy rain, more than 100 runners participated in the Sri Chinmoy May 10K in Battersea park.

James Hancock was the first to cross the line in 31:19 followed by Stephen Blake in 31:32.

Nina griffith was the first lady, in a very impressive 34:49, followed by Hannah Pullen in 35:23.

Mad March 10K

Our first race of 2022 took place on a perfect Spring day under a clear blue sky. Lawrence Hollom crossed the finish line first in 32:08 and the first woman was Lauren Longhurst in 39:13. Congratulations to all the runners!

 

GOLDEN LEAF 10K

Our final race of 2021 in Battersea Park took place in perfect weather conditions. Mild weather, no wind.

Nick Bester from South Africa crossed the line first in 31:22. Andrew Annett from Northern Ireland was close behind in 31:36. Third place went to Charlie Sandison from Fulham RC.

Annie Birch was the first woman in 35:24 followed by Hannah Pullen in 35:32.

AUTUMN DAWN 10K

135 runners completed the Autumn Dawn 10K.

In excellent race conditions, Chris Wright stormed in to win in 31:33. The first woman was Caoimhe Nic Fhogartaigh in 36:56. We also saw 2 new course records: in our W Vet 60 age group, Michele Coe-O'Brien recorded 46:32; and Phil Kelvin recorded 59:04 in the W Vet 70 category.

Hasty Hare 5K

On a moderately warm summer's evening, 222 runners crossed the finish line in the Sri Chinmoy Hasty Hare 5K. Luc Jolly was first in 15:13 followed by Ian Williamson in 15:15.

Beth Hawling was the first woman in 16:57 followed by Elle Roche in 17:01.

GREEN SPACE 10K

After all the rain and flooding we had only 5 days ago, it was a beautiful sunny morning in Battersea Park for the Green Space 10K.

Nick Bowker was first in 31:23 followed very closely by Edward Chuck in 31:25.

Clapham Chasers supplied the winner of the Womens race as well: Rose Harvey in 33:36.

Silver Starling 5K

Despite the heavy deluge of rain and thunderstorms across London this evening, Battersea Park remained relatively untouched, with only some light rain.

Elias Ahmed was the first to cross the finish line in 15:15.

Philippa Bowden was the first woman in 16:35 and she placed 14th overall.

Congratulations to all the runners.

Kangaroo Hop 5K

Midsummer's day was drizzly and overcast, with temperatures dropping to 13C. But that didn't dampen the spirits of 141 runners who completed the Sri Chinmoy Kangaroo Hop 5K.

Nick Bester finished first in 15:14.

Sophie Harris was the first woman in 16:28, breaking the course record by 5 seconds!

Dashing Deer 5K

On a balmy summer's evening in Battersea Park, Seyfu Jamaal was the first runner home in a scorching 14:46 followed by Elias Ahmed in 15:05. Lisa Rooney was the first lady home in 18:01. There was a great atmosphere and we are very grateful to everyone for taking part and making this a safe event. See you next week for the Kangaroo Hop 5K.

Speedy Steeds 5K

The races are on! 159 runners competed in our first race in 15 months.

Congratulations to Lewis Laylee from Herne Hill Harriers who won the race in 15:15.

Georgina Wiley from Kent AC was the first woman in 18:30.

It was so nice to see so many familiar faces back on the course.

Valentines 10K 22nd February 2020

Our first race in 2020 attracted 142 runners to Battersea Park on a windy February morning. Congratulations to Nick Bowker who came in first in 31:36. Laura Bohm won the Ladies race in 37:01. Our next race is the Mad March 10K 0n Saturday 21st March. See you there!

Grizzly Bear 10K Saturday 30th November 2019

On a clear and frosty morning,193 runners crossed the finish line at the Grizzly Bear 10K. Well done everybody and thank you for another successful year of races!

Golden Leaf 10K 19th October 2019

On a mild autumn day, as England were playing their quarter final game in the Rugby World Cup in Japan, 171 runners crossed the finish line in the Golden Leaf 10K in Battersea Park. Chris Wright was first in 31:12 and Stephanie Davis acheived a Personal Best and a Course Record in the Ladies race: 33:21. Well done everyone!

Hasty Hare 5K August 5th 2019

Our last Monday evening race of the summer attracted more than 200 runners. It was perfect conditions - a comfortable summer evening with a gentle breeze. Seyfu Jamaal was the winner in a spectacular 15:04. Emma Davis was the first lady home in 17:01. Thank you to all the runners and helpers for making this another successful season of races. We look forward to seeing everyone in the autumn for our Saturday morning 10k's.

Green Space 10K August 3rd 2019

On a perfect summer morning with a cooling breeze, 112 runners completed the 10 kilometre course in Battersea Park. Nicolas Besson was the champion in 31:58. Mary James was the first lady home in 36:57 and Susan McDonald was third lady overall and first Vet 50 lady home in 37:54.

Flying Falcon 5K July 29th 2019

On a perfect summer's evening 189 runners crossed the finish line in the Sri Chinmoy Flying Falcon 5K. Rob Corney ran alone out front to finish in 15:05 followed by Kevin Skinner who finished in 15:19. Our first Junior was Sonny Maund, 15, who finished in 16:45. Emma Davis was the first lady home in 17:05 and we had finishers in the Men Vet 70, Women Vet 70 and Men Vet 80 categories! WE have one more Monday evening 5K race - next week on August 5th. We also have a Saturday morning 10K on August 3rd. We look forward to seeing you there.

The Battersea Relays - 22nd July 2019

On a beautiful summer's evening, 553 runners brought excitement, fun, enthusiastic cheering and SPEED to Battersea Park. Congratulations to Dan Muryan, fastest man home in 4:27 and Emma Davis, fastest woman in 4:56. Herne Hill Harriers were the leading team, completing in 13:42.

Silver starling 5K - 15th July 2019

On a wonderful summer evening, as the whole country continues to celebrate the Cricket World Cup victory, 226 runners gathered on the start line for the Silver Starling 5K. The course record was broken by 3 seconds! It was Nicholas Torry who stormed in to take the first place in 14:34. Next week is our Battersea Relays. Congratulations to all the runners!

Kangaroo Hop 5K 8th July 2019

Our Monday night races have started again! 165 runners completed the Kangaroo Hop on a slightly overcast summer's evening. There was a cool breeze to aid the runners on this superbly flat course. Sam Eglen came in first in 15:19. Clare Elms was the first woman home, finishing in 17:48.

Dashing Deer 5K 10th June 2019


On a rainy, cloudy and rather cool day, 139 runners braved the weather to complete the 5 Kilometre course in Battersea Park. Sophie Harris was the first lady home in a scorching 16:33!!! Nichlas Buckle was the overall winner in 15:35. Congratulations to all who participated. We have a few weeks break now: our next Monday race is on 8th July.

Speedy Steeds 5K 3rd June 2019

On a fresh and breezy evening 114 runners competed in the Speedy Steeds 5K. Christian Grierson crossed the finish line first in 15:50. Lily Woolcock was the first woman to finish in 18:57. There was an impressive turn out for the Vet 70 race which was won by John Quaintance and there were two runners over 80. Congratulations to all the runners! Mid Summer 10K 1st June 2019

On the first day of June, and a day that feels like the first real day of summer, 143 runners lined up at the start line at the Bandstand in Battersea Park. Steve Woolley was alone out front and finished in 33:08. Rose Penfold won the Ladies race in 37:20. Congratulations to Joe Aspinall (age 81) who ran 61:03. We look forward to seeing you at our Monday evening series of races through the summer.

Rapid Rabbit 5K - 27th May 2019

On a mild summer's evening 90 runners lined up to run our first 5K of 2019. It was a Bank Holiday and Battersea Park was full of people. William Woodcock came in first in 15:32. Rose Penfold was the first lady home in 17:59. Congratulations to all the runners.

Fools Paradise 10K 6th April 2019

On a dry and pleasant Spring morning 126 runners completed the 10K course in Battersea Park. Ben MacCronan recorded the fourth ever fastest time on this course - 31:09. Jane Vongvorachoti recorded an amazing 36:55 to win the Ladies race. Well done to all the runners.

Mad March 10K 16th March 2019

On a windy, overcast day which well reflects the turbulent Brexit negotiations we began our 2019 season of races with the Mad March 10K. 137 runners completed the course. Ben MacCrowen crossed the line first in 32:05. Congratulations to all the runners. We look forward to seeing you all again throughout the year.

Grizzly Bear 10K 1st December 2018

The last race of the year ..... On a wet but mild Saturday morning we cheered on all the I-won't-be-put-off-by-the-elements runners as they raced our last 10K of the year. Jonny Earl not only won the race but smashed his PB with 31:52- Congratulations! We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2019.

Golden Leaf 10K

On a crisp autumn morning 185 runners completed the 10 kilometre course in beautiful Battersea Park. Jim Allchin came home first in 31:42 and Rose penfold was the first lady in 37:39. Congratulations to all runners.

Hasty Hare 5K 13th August 2018

Our last Monday evening race of the summer attracted 251 runners. The weather has cooled off a little but it is still humid and there was a great atmosphere as the runners lined up at the start. Nicolas Besson was the first person home in 15:54. Lucy Werthem was the first lady in 18:21. We had finishers in the Under 16 age category, Brandon Morrell in 18:14 and Margot Thomas in 19:50. We very happy to welcome Richard Pitcairn-Knowles, 85 years of age, who completed the course in 33:16. Congratulations to all the runners, especially those like Edwin Bartlett who competed in every Monday evening race this season. We look forward to seeing everyone at our October Golden Leaf 10K on Saturday 27th October at 8.30am.

Flying Falcon 5K 6th August 2018

On yet another perfect summer evening 150 runners completed the course. 13 year old Brandan Morrell finished in 18:17. The fastest time was clocked by Andy Greenleaf in 15:10 and Rachel Robinson was the first lady home in 17:01. Congratulations to all the runners.

Green Space 10K August 4th 2018

On a perfect summer's morning 121 runners completed the Sri Chinmoy Green Space 10K. Our course record was smashed by the winner: Malcolm Hicks from New Zealand finished in a breathtaking  29 minutes 41 seconds. Malcolm is training for the Berlin Marathon - so good luck Malcolm! Our next 10K is on October 27th. Congratulations to all the runners who took part today.

Sri Chinmoy Battersea Relays 30th July 2018

175 teams competed in this year's Battersea Relays. Congratulation to Highgate Harriers for storming in first with a team time of 13:25. Well done all teams!

 

Flyin Falcon 5K 6th August 2018

On yet another perfect summer evening 150 runners completed the course. 13 year old Brandan Morrell finished in 18:17. The fastest time was clocked by Andy Greenleaf in 15:10 and Rachel Robinson was the first lady home in 17:01. Congratulations to all the runners.

Silver Starling 5K 23rd July 2018

On a beautiful evening in Battersea Park, with the summer heat abating a bit just in time for the start, 150 runners charged round the course dispelling the lazy early evening haze. Congratulations to all! Rick Weston brought it home in 15:37 for Serpentine, whilst Nicola Timmins of Tri London recorded 18:43 to place 1st Woman. Mike Mann narrowly missed his course record of last week in the Vet 70 category but still recorded an impressive 22:05

Kangaroo Hop 5K 16th July 2018

On a gorgeous summer evening in Battersea Park, 134 runners completed the 5K course. Serpentine RC took first and second place and Ellen Downs of Sale Harriers was the first lady home. Congratulations to all the runners.

Dashing Deer 5K 25th June 2018

The summer weather just keeps getting better and better. On a perfect summer evening, in the glorious environs of Battersea Park, 146 runners completed the Dashing Deer 5K. Sage Pearce-Higgins came in first in 15:57 followed closely by Jamie Seddon. Rachel Robinson was the first woman home in 17:12 - 9th place overall! We had 13 runners in the Men Vet 60 category and Cliff Collins (81 years of age) completed the course in 28:01. Congratulations to all who participated. We have a short break now, but in 3 weeks we will be back with more Monday evening races starting on Monday 16th July. On 30th July we have our annual 3 x 1 mile relay - so start forming a team!

Mid Summer 10K 23rd June 2018

On a perfect mid summer day, 141 runners crossed the finish line at the Sri Chinmoy 10K in Battersea Park. Nicholas Handley came in first in 32:15. Emma Houchell was the first lady in 35:31. Congratulations to all the runners!

Speedy Steeds 5K 18th June 2018

While England were playing their first game in the World Cup, 135 runners turned up to run Sri Chinmoy Speedy Steeds 5K in Battersea Park. John McDonnell came in first in 15:26. Jackie Skinner was the first lady home in 17:55. Congratulations to all the runners!

Rapid Rabbit 5K 11th June 2018

On a warm sunny evening we started our summer series of Monday races. The Rapid Rabbit 5K attracted 248 runners. Sophie Harris from Belgrave Harriers set a new course record with 16.34!!!! Robel Bahlebi was the winner in 14.49. We had winners in the Vet 70 categories and Cliff Collins (81 years old) ran 28.49. Congratulations to all the runners!

Mad March 10K 24th March 2018

On an overcast morning, in perfect conditions, 180 runners crossed the finish line in the Mad March 10K. Andy Maud won the race in 31.59. The Ladies race was well contested with Jackie Skinner winning one second ahead of Amy Clements. Jackie's time was 38.03. Well done to all the runners!

Valentine's 10K 17th February 2018

Our first race of 2018 was attended by 131 enthusiastic runners on a splendid Spring day. The sun was shining brightly as Hugo Blatge stormed into the finish chute in 33:30. Melissa Gibson won the Ladies race in 39:52. Our next race is a 10K on Saturday 24th March. See you there!

Grizzly Bear 10K 26th November 2017

 

Our last race of 2017 was the Grizzly Bear 10K. On a chilly winter morning with clear skies and a bright sun, 187 runners completed the course in Battersea Park. Ed Auden was the winner in 33:02 and Kristina Randrup was the first Lady home in 39:28. Congratulations to Ellie Osmond, 15 years old, who finished in 41:51. Thank you to all the runners - see you in 2018.

Sri Chinmoy Golden Leaf 10K 21st October 2017

On a blustery autumn day, 117 runners crossed the finish line in the Sri Chinmoy Golden Leaf 10K. Chris Greenwood ran a brave race out front on his own, finishing in 32:05. Alexandra Stuart-Smith was the first lady home in 42:51. Well done to all the runners! Our next 10K in London is on Sunday November 26th at 8.30am.

Hasty Hare 5K 7th August 2017

As the heavens gave a light spray to keep everyone cool, the final race in our Monday evening 2017 series began with a bumper field of 260 runners. World Championship inspiration seemed to speard to Battersea Park as every age group shone. From Zachariah Bridgeland storming home in 16.28 to claim first U16 boys and Rose Garrett flying through in 19.12 for first U16 girls, to Penny Elliot (1st V70W 25.50) and Cliff Collins (1st V80M 26.27) showing age is no barrier.

Thank you everyone who competed in our summer series, you gave us a great summer of racing splendour. Here's to 2018! But if you can't wait that long, do join us for 10K Saturday morning racing in October.

Flying Falcon 5K 31st July 2017

At the penultimate Monday evening race of 2017 - the Flying Falcon 5K - 183 intrepid runners crossed the finish line. It was a mild summer evening and conditions were perfect for a fast race. Jonny Hay set a new course record, crossing the finish line in 14:37! Stephanie Davis won the Ladies race, setting the second best time on this course of 16:50. Twelve year old Akira Edgson from Sale Harriers finished in 20:47. There was a great turn out in the Vet categories. Our last Monday evening race is next week on August 7th - a 5K - we look forward to seeing everyone there!

Sri Chinmoy Battersea Relays

On a cool and cloudy evening 113 teams turned up to participate in the annual relay event and as usual there was a great atmosphere. Only Ful's and Horses (Duncan Lawrence, Nick Thomas and David Lawrence) stormed in to win in a scorching 14:12. All team results below - individual mile times included. Congratulations to all teams and all runners!

Sri Chinmoy Green Space 10K 22nd July 2017

On a cool summer day after a night of torrential rain 111 runners competed in the Sri Chinmoy Green Space 10K. Paul Cheetham from Barnes Runners won the race in 34:06. Marta Bagnati was the first Lady home in 37:11. Congratulations to all the runners!  

Silver Starling 5K 17th June 2017

On a warm and fairly humid evening 182 intrepid runners crossed the finish line in the Sri Chinmoy Siver Starling 5K. Alex Davy was first home in 15:59 with Chris Thomas and Jonny Earl not far behind. Sophie Sheldrake was the first woman home in 18:08. There were eight men in the Vet 70 category which was won by 81 year old Cliff Collins. Penny Elliott, age 74, finished in 26:36. Congratulations to all the runners. Next week are the Battersea Relays - a 3 x 1 mile relay. Make sure you have a team. If you don't, just turn up early on the night and we can form teams from individual runners.

Mid Summer 10K June 24th 2017

On a sultry summer morning with cloud cover and a breeze 140 ryunners completed the Sri Chinmoy Mid Summer 10K in Battersea park. There was a strong lead pack and David Jordan crossed the finish line first in 33:21. Marta Bagnati and Rose Harvey led the Ladies race - Marta winning in 37:26. Congratulations to all the runners!

Dashing Deer 5K 19th June 2017

On a very warm evening Xavier Gruot from France was the first runner to cross the finish line in 16.22. Jane Vongvorachoti was the first Woman in 18.05. Congratulations to all the runners!

On a very pleasant summer evening Andy greeneaf emerged from a very fast lead pack to win in 15:11. Lucy Reid won the Ladies race in 16:54. Congratulations to all the runners!

Rapid Rabbit 5K 5th June 2017

Congratulations to everyone for braving the heavy rain and storming through the first 5K race of our Monday night race series! We promise better weather on other Monday evenings this year (fingers crossed!) Jonathan Poole of Serpentine led the field and came home in 15.05, matching the best time we've seen in the past 3 years. Whilst Clapham Chasers made it a one-two in the women's race with Rachel Baker edging out her team mate Heidi Marks in 18.22. There were no photos taken last night but we will get that sorted for next week's race.

Fools Paradise 10K 1st April 2017

Despite several attempts at April Fools Day pranks, the race today went very smoothly. It was a glorious Spring day and the sun came out to bless all the runners. Bryn Reynolds ran a 33:31 to win the race and Ula Cartwright-Finch won the Ladies race in 38:52. Well done to everyone - see you in early June for the start of our Monday evening summer series of races!

Mad March 10K 4th March 2017

Our first race of 2017 - the Sri Chinmoy Mad March 10K - saw 113 runners complete the fast course in Battersea Park. Congratulations to Richard Gregory who stormed in ahead of the pack to win in 32:49. Elissa Morris flew in from the Isle of Man to win the Ladies Race in 37:28. On a clear and crisp autumn day 214 runners crossed the finish line on the fast course in Battersea Park. Tony Payne ran a brave race out front to win in 31.47. Lisa Rooney was the first Lady in, in 39.11. Congratulations to everyone!

Congratulations to all our runners this morning. On a perfect Autumn morning Phil Dickens of Cambridge Harriers lead the field and finished in 57.31. The women's winner was Alison Bryant-Smith from Serpentine in 64.14.

There were perfect conditions this evening - it was a cool, still summer evening. Olivier Le Polain won the race in 15.35 with Mark Worringham on his shoulder finishing in 15.38. Steph McCall was the outright leader in the Women's race, crossing the finish line in 16.37. This is the last of our summer series of races. Our next race is a 10K at 8AM on Saturday 10th September. On a drizzly evening in Battersea Park the 2 mile race course was broken - and broken in style. The record had been 9.32. Adam Kirk-Smith came flying in to the finish in 9.21. Congratulations to Adam!!!!

On a beautiful summer evening an overwhelming 116 teams signed up for the Sri Chinmoy Relay. Congratulations to London Heathside A (Andrew Brooker, Charles Hardy and Adam Kirk-Smith) who won in a time of 13.37 - just sixteen seconds outside the course record. The Bridge Plank Superwomen won the Womens race in 16.21 - congratulations to Rebecca Piggott, Leigh James and Rebecca Bunting.

On a beautiful summer's evening 169 runners completed the 5K course. Chris Thomas came in first in 16:11 and Stephanie Davis came flying in with 17:31 to win the Ladies race. Congratulations to all runners!

Sri Chinmoy 10K

While Manchester United and Crystal Palace were warming up to compete for FA Cup glory, a more intense competition was taking place between Ben Johnson and Daniel Gaffney in Battersea Park. It was an overcast summer's day as 108 runners completed the Sri Chinmoy 10K race. Daniel Gaffney crossed the line first in 32.18. Sarah Kingston was the first lady in 37.37. On a clear sunny Spring morning we held our first 10 Mile race in 2016. Well done to all the competitors!

Our 2016 season of races began on a clear crisp morning. 139 runners completed the course. Chris Greenwood came in first in31.56 followed by Elliot Robinson in 32.24. Self Transcendence 10K 21st November 2015

Our final race of 2015 started in wintry showers. Matt Gunby, Kevin Quinn and Andrew Greenleaf set out at a blistering pace. Matt won the race in 31.26. Helen Palmer won the Ladies race in 36.28. Several trophies were not picked up - if you were in the top 7 men or women, top 3 men or women over 50, top 2 men or women over 60, or top man over 70 you can pick up your trophy at Run and Become, 4a Eccleston Street, SW1W 9LN from Tuesday 24th November to 8th December 2015. A mild cloudy morning in Battersea Park saw 144 runners complete the 10K. Mark Hobbs ran alone out at the front and won in 34.04. Meriel Holden ran a strong race to win the Ladies in 39.39. On a warm breezy evening 218 runners completed the fast and flat 5K course in Battersea Park. John Franklin was the first to cross the finish line - he won in 15.23. Sarah Johnson was the fastest lady, finishing in 17.56. Congratulations to 13 year old Christopher Morris who won the Under 16 category in 19.39. On a cool windy evening in Battersea Park 177 runners completed the 5K course. Jonathan Johnson won the race in 15.52 closely followed by Christopher Thomas in 15.57. Sophie Sheldrake won the Ladies race in 18.13. There was a great turnout in the Vet categories and today's Under 16 champion was Michelle Vogt. A special mention goes to David Tomkin from Ireland who ran his first ever race at the age of 67. Congratulations! Our next 5K is in one week's time on Monday 3rd August. A great turnout of 70 teams made for a great atmosphere in Battersea Park for the 3 x 1 mile relay this evening. Clapham Chasers 1 won the race in 15.10 with Bryn Reynolds, James Rosenvinge and Martin Rutter. Fulham Force won the All Ladies race in 17.53. On a glorious summer evening 159 runners completed the 5K course in Battersea Park. John Gilbert came in first in 15.27, with Megan De Silva finishing first lady in 18.33. Marie Synnott-Wells ran an excellent race to win the Vet 50 Ladies category in 19.56 (5th woman overall). The Vet categories were well represented with eight Vet 60 men and four Vet 70 men. We hope to see everyone next Monday for the next 5K. In two weeks time, on Monday 20th July, we have our first relay. Each team consists of 3 runners, and each runner runs a mile. Self Transcendence 10K Saturday 4th July 2015

We are experiencing glorious summer weather with temperatures around 30C in London right now. After a big thunderstorm last night the air was fresh and fragrant in Battersea Park this morning. Luke Penney won the race in 33.47 and Gillian Sanders won the Ladies race and came fourth overall in 35.02. Julia Davis came second in the Ladies race and seventh overall in 36.03. Congratulations to all the runners. Our next 10K is on August 8th but our Monday Night races start again in 2 days with a 5K. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

Self Transcendence 10K, April 2015

On a cool and breezy April morning, 124 runners crossed the finish line in our first 10K of the year. There was a very strong turnout from Clapham Chasers, but the winner was Miles Unterreiner from Oxford University in 31.36. The leading lady was Emma Burgess from Highate in 38.44. Congratulations to Andrew Dolecki on his first 10K ever. Also, good luck to Beth Cole and Eileen Edgeway who are heading out to Cambodia to do voluntary work. Our next race is a 10K on May 2nd at 8am as usual. We hope to see you all there!

Self Transcendence 10 Mile

Our first London race of 2015 took place on a cool cloudy morning in Battersea Park. There was a brief, light shower of rain halfway through the race but it didn't last long. Martin Dematteis ran a scorching pace out front on his own, finishing in a very respectable 51.40. Isobel Everest from Biggleswade AC won the Ladies race in 67.71. Our next race is a 10K on Saturday 4th April. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

On a cool clear morning, 110 runners completed the 10 Mile course in Battersea Park. Chris Busaileh ran alone out front and finished in 52.02. As the Commonwealth Games are drawing to an end in Glasgow, 207 intrepid athletes completed the Self Transcendence 10K in Battersea Park. Kyle Marks of Belgrave Harriers won the race in 32.47. Self Transcendence 5K 28th July 2014

In perfect race conditions 210 runners came, saw and conquered the Battersea Park 5K Self Transcendence course. Alex Milne stormed in to win the race in 15.06 with Amy Aronson winning the Ladies race in 18.24. There was an excellent turn out in the Vet categories and a very big congratulations goes to Edwin Bartlett who turned 70 on the day of the race. Edwin has attended all our races as far back as we can remember!

Our celebrity prize-giver this week was Prachar Stegemann - who has come all the way from Canberra, Australia. As well as being an accomplished athlete himself, he is also the Director of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in Australia, who have also been putting on a plethora of races for over 3 decades. A big thank you, Prachar!

There is a 10K this coming Saturday 2nd August at 8am. Next week we have our final Monday night race of the season - the relay (Monday 4th August 7pm). We hope to see you all there.

On a exquisite summer's day Scott O'Connor was the winner in today's 2 Mile race in a time of 10.19. The winner of the Women's race was 12 year old Yasmin Marghini in 12.20. Tony Tuohy came in 3rd overall and 1st in the Vet 50's in 10.30. Our next race is a 5K Race next Monday evening, 21st July.

On a cloudy, mild morning, 190 runners completed the 10K along Battersea's leafy park lanes. John Franklin ran out front alone finishing in 32.25. Alex Gounelas was way ahead of the Ladies field finishing in 37.13

After a weekend which featured the Tour de France in England, The British Grand Prix and the Wimbledon Men's Final, 141 runners turned out to the first of our summer relays. Alex Davy, Alex Bellen and Fred Slemeck came in first. Mairead O'Rourke, Hope Sloly and Kelly Thorneycroft were the first All Ladies team home.

Self Transcendence 5K Race, June 30th'14

On a rather wet evening, 156 determined runners brushed off the rain and challenged their PBs in Battersea Park. Star of the night had to be Robin Wilson, who at the sprightly age of 80 recorded 32.47.

Wimbledon is underway, the World Cup in Brazil is coming to the end of the group stage, and the Sri Chinmoy Self Transcendence Races are in full swing. Battersea Park was warm and humid this evening. Rick Weston came first in 15.27, Cathy Ansell won the Ladies Race in 17.56. Our next race 5K is next Monday 30th June. In 2 weeks time we have our first Relay: create a team of 3 (each runner runs 1 mile).

Fred Slemeck won today's 2 Mile race in 9.51. The first Lady home was Clare Elms in 11.10 - a course record for the Ladies Vet 50, CONGRATULATIONS! Tony Tuohy, another Dulwich Runner, equalled the Mens Vet 50 course record, finishing in 10.21. Our next race is a 5K Race next Monday evening, 23rd June. On Monday 7th July we have the first of our summer relays, 3 x 1 mile, so start preparing your team.
 

Self Transcendence 10K Race 14th June'14

On a wonderful summer's morning after fresh ealy morning rain, 190 runners gathered in Battersea Park for the June 10K. Andy Greenleaf lead from the start, finishing in a very impressive 31.25. Alex Gounelas won the Ladies race in 37.07. 

Self Transcendence 5K Race 9th June'14

A warm, humid evening saw 189 runners complete the 5K race. Rain began to pour down with half the runners still out of the course but that didn't deter anyone! Rick Weston won the race in 15.12 and Amy Aronson won the Ladies in 18.38.

Self Transcendence 5K Race June 2nd 2014

Our first 5K of the year got off to a flying start with 235 runners crossing the line on a warm summer's evening in Battersea Park. Alex Milne came first in 15.15 and all the Vet categories were well contested.

Self Transcendence 10K Race May'14

A clear sunny day saw 147 runners cross line. The lead men set out at blistering pace but no one could stay with Andy Greenleaf who stormed home in 31.22. tony Tuohy set a course record for the Men Vet 50 – Congratulations.

Fortunately, the Saharan Smog had moved on and it was yet another fine morning in Battersea Park with a hint of summer in the air. 147 runners completed the race, with a tremendous battle for first place.
