About the event

Our Swim-Run event is part of the GO TRI series, organised in partnership between the Sri Chinmoy Tri Club (Bristol) and Triathlon England. The 200M swim takes place in Filton Leisure Centre's heated, 25M pool and the 3KM run is a loop course around Elm Park.

There are pics of previous Swim Runs in our race gallery.

Like all GO TRI events, the Sri Chinmoy Tri Club's GO TRI Filton Swim Run is beginner-friendly - you can swim any stroke (except backstroke) to complete the 8-length course and the run distance is a very achievable 3KM!

Results for the Sri Chinmoy Tri Club GO TRI Swim Run at Filton Pool, April 30th 2017

Decent weather (cool but dry) saw our biggest ever turnout for the annual Swim-Run at Filton Pool. 46 athletes tackled 8 lengths of the pool and 3 laps of Elm Park. Samuel McKelvie-Warsop (Bristol North Swimming Club) took first place with a time of 15.55, going one better than his runner up position last year. First lady Rebecca Hayward (Kingswood Tri) set a new course record in her category with 16.33. The under-20 awards went to our overall winner Samuel McKelvie Warsop, and Guenevere Kiely who finished in 18.47. We haven't awarded vet prizes before, but this year we decided to honour the quickest over-50s with small trophies which went to Yvonne Cox (18.12) and Andrew Griffiths (Frampton Cotterell Harriers, 17.39).

It was great to see so many people out on the course - local triathlon club members outnumbered (as you'd expect in a GO TRI event) by a lot of athletes in their first season of multi sport racing.

Well done to everyone who took part and finished a short but challenging race.

Photos will be uploaded to by midnight on race day so do take a look - provisional results are in the attached file.
